Chicago, IL - A alleged drunk driver was injured at about 1:45 a.m. this morning after he ran a red light, hit another vehicle, then ran into a storefront business at Ashland Avenue and Irving Park Road, Chicago police said.

Police have cited the injured man -- Juan Reyes, 26, of the 1400 block of West Blackhawk Street -- for driving under the influence, driving without a license or insurance, failure to reduce speed, disobeying a red light and failure to wear a seat belt.

Reyes was headed north on Ashland in a Nissan Maxima when he ran the red light and struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling east on Irving Park, police said. The impact sent the Maxima spinning and caused it to collide with the front of a building at 3953 N. Ashland.

Reyes was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, authorities said. The Cherokee driver and thee passengers declined medical attention.
