Chicago Pride Fest returns Sunday with Cazwell, Estelle and 'Queen of Bounce' Big Freedia

Organizers encourage festival goers to #KeepPrideProud

Chicago, IL - After a successful opening on Saturday, the 13th annual Chicago Pride Fest returns Sunday, June 21 at 11 a.m., with some heavy hitters including Estelle, the Grammy-winning singer recently featured on the hit TV series "Empire."

Along with Estelle, other popular names like "Queen of Bounce" Big Freedia -- who is best known for his NSFW video for "Peanut Butter" with RuPaul -- out rapper Cazwell and Crystal Waters will take the Main Stage at North Halsted and Grace.

"Since the beginning of my career I've had a long-standing relationship with Boystown in Chicago," Cazwell told ChicagoPride.com. "I love Chicago and I love the people. It's a very musical city, and people are always open to hearing new DJ sets and new songs from the performers. I love performing there."

Expect a debut performance of "The Biscuit" from Cazwell along with his hits "Dance Like You've Got Good Credit", "Downtown" and "Hot Homo."

Local favorites, including Cat Fight and 16 Candles, will perform the South Stage at North Halsted and Addison.

In addition to the non-stop entertainment, the festival will included 60 vendors offering arts, crafts and unique merchandise tailored to the gay community. Plus Miss Foozie will host the popular Pet Pride Parade, sponsored by PetCo, starting at 12:30 p.m.

The festival is coupled with other major LGBT celebrations in June, like Pride Splash, an exclusive outdoor waterpark party at Six Flags Great America's Hurricane Harbor on the Monday, June 22. Also, the 34th annual Proud to Run 5K/10K race and the high-concept themed dance party Neverland, which are both slated for Saturday, June 27.

Chicago Pride Fest, which is organized by the Northalsted Business Alliance, runs through 10 p.m. Sunday, June 21 on North Halsted Street between Addison and Grace in Boystown. A $10 donation is recommended. The Chicago Pride Parade is the next Sunday, June 28 at noon.
