Midsommarfest celebrates 50th anniversary this weekend

Chicago, IL - Midsommarfest, one of Chicago's oldest summer street festivals, returns to Andersonville for its 50th year this weekend, bringing with it two days of music and shopping, food and drink.

The fun kicked off Friday night and continues on Saturday and Sunday with four stages featuring Chicago headliners, along with some of the city's most fun cover bands. Festival headliners include 16 Candles, JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound, Final Say, ABBA Salute, Cat Fight, 7th Heaven, Get Up With The Get Downs, The Joans, Pieptone!, The Handcuffs, The Opposition Party, Laura Doherty, and many more.

Two dozen food vendors offer international fare and festival favorites; over 80 local artists and vendors will be displaying their unique wares.

Midsommarfest, which is expected to draw over 50,000 people to the North Side neighborhood, runs from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday along Clark Street from Foster to Catalpa. Admission to the event is a $10 suggested donation, with proceeds benefiting the work of the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce.
