Chicago, IL - The Blue Man Group has denied media reports that one of its members had been arrested by Chicago police for allegedly performing oral sex on another man on a park bench.

According to a spokesman from the Blue Man Group the suspect, Darren Stephens, is not and has never been a member of the popular performance ensemble.

On Monday local media reported that Stephens, 45, had been arrested on the 4500 block of North Simonds Drive and charged with misdemeanor public indecency for performing oral sex on Michael Pressler, 48, an assistant principal at Maine East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Chicago police say that Stephens identified himself as a member of the Blue Man Group but they had not conducted a background check to confirm his employment before releasing the information to the media.

Dave Beery a spokesman for Maine Township District 207, said that Stephens has been temporarily reassigned to work from home until the school board takes action.

"In general, the school district does not comment on these matters because they are personnel issues that the board must act upon," Beery told the Sun-Times News Group.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court on February 6.
