A Chicago man says he was punched in the face and had his phone stolen in an apparent hate crime in Boystown Friday night.
Windy City Times reports Richard Sypniewski was assaulted as he left a party in the 3400 block of North Halsted St. around 10:30 p.m. on Friday. When he walked down an unnamed side street, Sypniewski says that a man approached him from behind and said, "Hey faggot."
The man took Sypniewski's cell phone, but not his wallet.
