Pre-Pride Parade Day celebration on Halsted & Waveland to feature live music & food

Chicago, IL - "PRIDE FEST," a GLBT community celebration a day before Chicago's annual Pride Parade (parade map and informaton), will be held on Saturday, June 28, at the intersections of North Halsted and Waveland. This first-ever event is sponsored by the Northalsted Area Merchants Association.

A PRIDE FEST entertainment stage will feature both live acts and dance DJs. There will also be food and beverage vendors.

Suggested gate donation is $5. Hours are 11 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

PRIDE FEST, as well as the following day's Pride Parade which draws more than 350,000 spectators, cap off a month of GLBT activities and events during Pride Month, which is celebrated each June.

NAMA also sponsors Northalsted Market Days, the Midwest's largest annual two-day outdoor street festival that draws more than 150,000 Chicagoans and GLBT visitors from around the globe. This year's Market Days—now celebrating its 22nd year—will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 9-10.
