Trans Pride will celebrate the broad spectrum of transgender identity and demonstrate trans* visibility with a potluck picnic at Chicago's Ardmore Hollywood Beach on Sunday, July 27. The event was planned and announced by a group of independent Chicago community members.
As beaches are traditionally not trans*-affirming or body-positive spaces, the gathering will stake claim in public space and join together to be present, visible, and proud. At noon, the group and allies will gather with flags and other visible transgender pride items. Guests are encouraged to bring and share coolers, refreshments, sunblock and food.
