Chicago, IL - On the Monday of Pride Week, June 23, the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame will begin its 2008 fund-raising effort with the 16th annual Pride and Joy Reception, which will be held from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Circuit Night Club, 3641 N. Halsted Street. Tickets are $10, and they are available from members of the Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues, from Hall of Fame inductees, and at Circuit.

The evening will include a buffet of delicious heavy hors d'oeuvres.
The 2007 Hall of Fame exhibit will be on display, and nomination forms for 2008 inductions will be available. Along with an appearance by DJ Ron G, other special guests include Cyon Flare, Miss Foozie, Veronica Zaid & Company, Sebastian Cock - The Chicago Boi Toiz, and Miss Paula Sinclaire. Boi Magazine and Circuit invite everyone who attends to stay after 10 p.m. as their guests. Complimentary parking will be provided on an availability basis.

Circuit Night Club is underwriting the entire cost of the evening. The funds raised will be used to cover the expenses of the 2008 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame induction ceremony and reception, which will be held November 13 at the Chicago Cultural Center and will be open to all at no cost. In addition, a portion of the funds will be earmarked for a permanent display and to support the Hall of Fame's Web site (www.GLHallofFame.org).

The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame's featured sponsors for the
2008 season include Boi Magazine, Circuit Night Club, FireFly, J&L Catering, Ketel One Vodka, Miller Lite, Sidetrack, and Supergurl Images (list still in formation).

The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame is privately funded through generous donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, and fundraisers such as the Pride and Joy Reception. Staff support is provided by the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, members of the Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues, and volunteers.

Chicago is the only known municipality that so honors its LGBT residents. The Hall of Fame not only pays tribute to individuals and organizations but also documents the heritage and diversity of Chicago's LGBT communities through its annual publication and its Web site (www.GLHallofFame.org).
