CTA Northbound Red Line trains to bypass Edgewater, Rogers Park stations through Monday

Chicago, IL - Red Line riders in the Edgewater and Rogers Park neighborhoods should plan for construction delays and closed stations through early Monday morning.

According to a CTA commuter alert, the Howard-bound (Northbound) Red Line trains will bypass Edgewater and Rogers Park stations this weekend as crews peform constuction on a new electrical substation at Farwell Ave.  

The stations impacted are Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, Granville, Loyola, Morse and Jarvis. For service from these stations, the CTA advises riders to take a 95th-bound train to Berwyn and transfer to a Howard-bound train.

Full service is expected to re restored by 2 a.m. on Monday. 

CTA Blue Line construction to begin this weekend

CTA Blue Line riders between O'Hare and downtown are also being advised to plan to add up to 30 minutes to any trip to and from the airport this weekend as the "Your New Blue" project begins this weekend. Service between Logan Square and Western Ave. stations will be suspended until 4 a.m. on Monday.
