Chicago, IL - DNAinfo Radio is on the air, streaming news from Chicago's neighborhoods, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The new online stream was launched this week by DNAInfo Chicago with on-demand features expected to be added later. DNAinfo Radio, which is exclusively a Chicago project, is headed by news director Jon Hansen.

"I'm really excited to be a part of DNAinfo and to help launch DNAinfo Radio," Hansen told ChicagoPride.com. "I was an avid reader of the website and was ecstatic to jump into a new challenge."

Hansen has held posts at Clear Channel, 24-7 Source News and Total Traffic. He has reported for WBBM Newsradio and WGN-AM radio and serves as a fill-in public address announcer for the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.

According to Hansen, DNAinfo Radio will aim to provide another platform for DNAinfo.com readers to access the site's extensive neighborhood news.

"Utilizing the 30 or so reporters on staff, DNAinfo radio will provide an in-depth look at stories that matter to Chicagoans," he said. "We'll hear from the reporters and their sources to provide listeners the full story of what's going on in Chicago's neighborhoods."

The DNAinfo Radio stream is available now directly from dnainfo.com/chicago. Apps are coming soon for mobile devices.
