It's day number three of Jake Biondi announcing his photo contest winners and the Chicago author is excited to cast the face of Emmett Mancini, who he calls his "hero character" in the "Boystown" series. The youngest Mancini brother will be represented by local Chicago boy Patrick Murphy in all upcoming promotions for Biondi's steamy Internet serial-turned-novel.

"Patrick is such a sweet guy, who embodies everything that I want Emmett Mancini to be," Biondi said in a press release. "Patrick is handsome, personable, outgoing and trustworthy. I am honored to be working with him."

"Boystown" was initially released as a serial online, allowing Biondi to adapt his characters and plotlines based on reader feedback. One such direct change was with Emmett, initially part of Biondi's steady power couple who found themselves broken up after Emmett's boyfriend's past came to light, a direct result of reader comments that the couple's plotline needed some spicing up.

The series revolves around the Mancini family, of which Emmett is the youngest, so he's central to the plotline and easily one of the books most likeable characters. Emmett is described as kind and generous, with Biondi's website calling him "the family's voice of reason, compassion and support."

"I am so excited to have been selected to be part of the 'Boystown' family -- Emmett Mancini is one of the book's core characters, and my personal favorite," Murphy said in a press release. "Emmett is such a great character, the moral center of the BOYSTOWN series. He is loyal to his family, his friends and his partner. He's a role model and I am really happy to be the face of his character."

There are still two days of winners to come -- including the second grand prize winner -- so stay tuned to ChicagoPride.com for more!
