Nightclub owner puts popular LGBT club up for sale, listed at $1.5 million

Boystown's Spin Nightclub, located at the corner of Halsted and Belmont, is up for sale.
According to a listing on Jameson Commercial by broker Mike Costanzo, the 9,000-square-foot club is priced at $1.5 million. The leasing price is $26,000 a month. The listing, which has been active since Nov. 19, 2013, is only for the nightclub itself.
Spin has been a popular Boystown destination for not only the LGBT community but for allies as well since it was opened over 15 years ago by David Gassman.
The gay nightclub, which anchors the southern end of the North Halsted strip, has two dance floors, four full service bars and several lounge areas. Spin has filled its dance floor with weekly promotions, including the infamous shower contest on Friday nights.
When contacted by ChicagoPride.com, Gassman, who owns several other properties in the area, offered no comment.
