Chobani Outs Rainbow Cups As Russians Keep Yogurt From Reaching Sochi Olympics

Chicago, IL - Chobani late Friday released an image of yogurt cups in the six rainbow colors of the Gay Pride flag.

The stacked cups are set in a field of snow under a blue sky and each includes the tag line "Naturally powering Team USA."

The New York-based maker of Greek style yogurt earlier this week denounced an anti-gay law approved by Russia, host of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, which opened Friday.

The new law, which prohibits the promotion of "gay propaganda" to minors, has overshadowed the run-up to the Sochi Games.

"We oppose Russia's anti-LGBT law," CNBC quoted the CEO of Chobani, a U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) sponsor.

According to The Washington Post, Russian officials have refused to allow a shipment of Chobani yogurt to reach U.S. athletes competing in Sochi. The yogurt remains in storage in New Jersey. Russia does not allow the importation of any yogurt originating from the United States.
