Chicago, IL - Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, a former poli-sci student, returned to his hometown last Tuesday to throw a fundraiser for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama at Chicago's Lakeview Broadcasting Company, 3542 N. Halsted.

Fall Out Boy fanatics and potential Obama voters braved the bitter cold night to pay $75 for the non-traditional fundraiser that Wentz co-hosted with Illinois State Representative Sara Feigenholtz.

"I have never really gotten involved in politics before. Even in college, everyone just wanted to go out and get drunk and make bad decisions, sort of like we did when we elected George W. Bush eight years ago," the 28-year-old Wentz told the crowd. "So in the spirit of all that, I just want everyone to pretend this isn't a real fundraiser and go out and have fun."

Attendees received a Clandestine-designed "Obama: Changing More Than Just His Clothes" T-shirt.

"I really only came out here for the T-shirt," joked Feigenholtz.

Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias also attended the fundraiser covered by local and national media including MTV.
