Chicago, IL - Team Roscoe's, better known as Team 'Hell on Heels', is set to unveil their homemade "flying" vehicle, "Phoebe II," Thursday night during a launch party at Roscoe's Tavern.

'Hell on Heels' was to compete in Chicago last year, but unsafe weather conditions caused the event to be cancelled. Not to be disappointed the Chicago team took to their craft "Phoebe" to the West Coast and competed in the San Francisco Red Bull Flugtag, where they finished 10th out of a competitive lot of 35 entries.

Team 'Hell on Heels' returns to compete in the 2013 Chicago Red Bull Flugtag this Saturday in a brand new location, the South Side's Burnham Park. Hangars open at 11 a.m. First flight at 1 p.m.

This year's team represents not only Roscoe's Tavern, 3356 N. Halsted, but also Progress Bar, which is situated across the street at 3359 N Halsted. The team is made up of Brenden Chrisman, Frida Lay, Eddie Gonzalez, Mario Elias, Dave Sineni, David Sikora and Shawn Hazen.

"We really want this to be a community effort and for everyone to come and not only support us, but just have fun," Chrisman, who serves as team captain, told ChicagoPride.com.

In an effort to build awareness and excitement, the team will host a Launch Party at 9 p.m. on Thursday night at Roscoe's Tavern, where "Phoebe II" will officially be unveiled. Due to the design and size, Chrisman said it will be impossible for the team to attach the wings and some of the decoration to the craft until they arrive on site at Burnham Harbor.

"Fans and friends will be able to get the general idea and appreciate how massive she actually is," joked Chrisman. "We are super excited and also super exhausted."

Chrisman encouraged fans to also come out Saturday to support the team.

"We have a great fan base and being able to compete in front of our hometown crowd is an awesome opportunity," he said.

Voting for the coveted People's Choice Award began Thursday at 11 a.m. and continues through the last flight on Saturday. Fans can vote online or by text (for "Phoebe II" text CHI5 to 72855.)

Red Bull Flugtag events are also happening in D.C., Long Beach, Miami and Dallas/Fort Worth on the same day.
