President Bill Clinton speaks out against DOMA
Los Angeles, CA -
Last night, April 20, at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards Los Angeles ceremony, Jennifer Lawrence presented the first Advocate for Change award to former President Bill Clinton.
"I want to keep working on this until not only DOMA is no longer the law of the land, but until all people, no matter where they live, can marry the people they love," said President Clinton. "I believe you will win the DOMA fight, and I think you will win the Constitutional right to marry. If not tomorrow, then the next day or the next day."
Additional awards were presented in New York on March 16. The final awards will be presented in San Francisco on May 11 at the Hilton San Francisco - Union Square where Adam Lambert will receive the Davidson/Valentini Award and the San Francisco Giants will receive the Corporate Leader Award.
