Chicago, IL - On Friday, June 9, The Field Associates of The Field Museum will host their summer event, The Field Trip: A Toast to Tut. The event will showcase Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs.

The exhibition of nearly 130 priceless treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun and other royal tombs opens May 26 and runs through January 1, 2007.

The Field Associates event is inspired by the mysterious wonders of ancient Egypt. Guests will enjoy food and cocktails on the Museum’s northeast terrace, musical entertainment throughout the night, and a special raffle. The evening’s highlight will be a private viewing of Tut and the Museum’s permanent exhibition Inside Ancient Egypt. The event begins at 7 pm and ends at 11 pm.

"We're excited to kick off the summer party season with a much anticipated event that will place the treasures of Tut center stage," says Curtis Spears, co-chair for the event.

Tickets are $95 for individual tickets, $85 for Field Associates members, and $800 for a block of 10 tickets. Tickets may be purchased by phone at 1-866-FIELD-03 or online at www.fieldmuseum.org/fieldassociates.

Proceeds from the event benefit the educational programs of The Field Museum including those geared toward student and teacher enrichment, community outreach, and public lectures.

The Field Associates is a membership organization of young professionals of diverse professions and backgrounds with a common interest in exploring the depth of The Field Museum.
