Chicago, IL - Chicago Police will launch a new initiative this weekend that will put more officers on the streets throughout Lakeview, including Wrigleyville and Boystown.

Known as the "entertainment detail," the plan will boost the number of officers on North Halsted Street in Boystown, Clark Street in Wrigleyville and the area surrounding the Belmont CTA train station, among other locations.

The new push for nighttime policing is the latest effort to curb crime in the popular entertainment districts on the North Side of Chicago.

This past summer, businesses along North Halsted hired a private security team to supplement existing police patrols.
