Out Elections 2012: LGBTQ candidates special report

Gay Chicago TV, in conjunction with the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund and Institute, are presenting Out Elections 2012, a comprehensive guide to LGBT candidates throughout the country.
The 2012 U.S. presidential elections will also include 37 local and state elections with LGBT candidates and 7 of those states with a candidate running for a U.S. senate and House of Representative seat. Additionally, this year, U.S. courts are challenging major legislation against marriage equality including Proposition 8, California's ban on Same-sex marriage, and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the federal ban on same sex marriage.
With these decisions moving LGBT civil rights forward, the Victory Fund is working to stress the importance this election has for the future of LGBT civil rights in America by electing openly LGBT officials.
