Chicago, IL - The Thirteenth Annual Hall of Fame Celebrity Auction will benefit the 2005 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame, announced Clarence N. Wood, Chair of the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, and Laura Rissover, Chair of the Commission's Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues (ACLGBTI). The auction will be held on Tuesday, September 27, at Sidetrack, 3349 N. Halsted St. The cocktail reception and registration will begin at 7 p.m. and bidding will start at 8 p.m. The registration fee of $10 includes cocktails, hors d'oeuvres from J and L Catering, an auction paddle to bid with, and a $10 credit on auction purchases. The event is sponsored by Ketel One Vodka, Miller Lite, Sidetrack, and Star Gaze and hosted by Sidetrack.

Auctioneers for the evening will be David Boyer, Circuit Mom, and Jessica Halem.

Prominent personalities from Chicago's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LBGT) communities offer items and services for bidders to consider. Items include dining packages, video collector sets, pet care products, theatre tickets, art objects, catered parties, travel packages, and much more.

"This year we have an outstanding collection of Madonna memorabilia and an "Evidence Bag" crammed full of fun items from the Chicago Police Department. There are terrific items for everyone!" said Bill Greaves, ACLGBTI director.

The 2005 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, in G.A.R. Hall at the Chicago Cultural Center, 77 East Randolph St. The event is privately funded through donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations and through fundraisers such as the Celebrity Auction. The Chicago Commission on Human Relations, members of ACLGBTI, and volunteers provide staff support. Chicago is the only known municipality to honor its LGBT communities in this manner. The Hall of Fame not only pays tribute to these individuals and organizations but also documents the LGBT communities' heritage and diversity through its annual publication and its Web site (www.glhalloffame.org).

Individuals, businesses, and organizations that wish to donate or need additional information may contact Bill Greaves at 312-744-7911(voice) or 312-744-1088 (TTY) or the Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame at 773-281-5077 (voice). Contributions may be sent to The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame,
