Die hard fans, regular viewers, occasional watchers, and critics alike have all let out a long sigh of relief. Why you may ask? Because the Queer as Folk: Season Four Box Set has finally hit store shelves nation wide. (Buy Now)

And who knew that when the show “grew up” per say and became a bit more mature with deeper story lines and harder questions it would make it all the more sexy? Gay icons and producers of the series Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipmen, that’s who! After three seasons of chart topping, steaming, super hot shows that tackled everything from gay bashing to poz/neg relationships Queer As Folk took it to the next level.

Season Four is four times the sex appeal, four times the action, four times the Pride, and four times the message. This season looks deeper into the issues that make the Rainbow life so complex. Michael and Ben’s relationship encounter’s huge milestones like the real issues parents deal with when having an HIV positive teen that is finally ready to start dating. The possibility of actually being able to marry and battling the legal complications that poses.

Melanie and Lindsay add to the watershed moments in Michael’s life by offering to make him the father to their second baby. But what is a father? That question changes, morphs, and raises important questions all through the season for the girls as they deal with their own issues. Lindsay returning back to work, who will carry this baby, and what happens when sexuality is less defined because of the adoration of a lifelong hero who you’ve grown to detest; there is never a dull moment in Philadelphia’s favorite lesbian household!

And if none of that is enough to send you running to the store to make sure you get the last copy on the shelf then the special features will seal the deal. Of course you have your standard photo gallery, cast biographies, and trailers but the extras don’t stop there. There is a behind the scenes tour of the Los Angeles Babylon Tour that swept the nation. A look into the cast’s wardrobe closet (not the only closet this season attacks, hint hint...) A look at Peter Paige’s awesomely endearing new film Say Uncle which he not only starred in but directed as well. And an insider’s sneak peak look at Gail and Michelle’s latest movie, The Unseen that promises to be a heart stopper. Both movies are candid and frighteningly realistic looks at gay issues in America from fresh, new, and unique perspectives that will hopefully hold up a mirror to the straight world about attitudes and fears toward our community.

Two queer couples, special features, and we haven’t even gotten to Em, Justin, Theodore, Debbie, or the man we still all love to hate: Brian Kinney. But don’t worry each and every one of them has just as much to deal as the two power couples leaving not one moment to run and grab diet coke from the fridge. It is edge of your seat, heart stopping, oh my god is she really wearing that gay drama to the, well 4th power! So what are you waiting for? Shouldn’t you be on your way to buy your very own copy? After all Season Five is just around the corner and you need to get caught up! Queer as Folk: Season Four is on sale now everywhere and there is a copy with your name written all over it!
