The Chicago Gay Youth Center presents a series of unique events for Chicago's gay youth and young adults over spring break. Below is a schedule of events. Call 1-877-286-1939 for more information.
Thursday, March 17th
Center on Halsted, Youth Drop-in, 961 W Montana
Ages 13-24, 3pm-8pm, doors close at 5:30pm
These nights focus on different discussion topics, self-expression, role-playing, games and projects. Youth socialize with each other under the supervision of trained, caring adults.
• Explore with peers through art, dance, and field trips.
• Learn communication, computer and life skills.
Spring Break Passes on Sale! Chicago Gay Youth Center, 1218 W Addison 4pm-8pm
Save money buy purchasing discounted passes to Spring Break events. Passes available to those 23 and under everyday at Gay Mart as well. Gay Mart is located at 3457 N Halsted.

“Real World Chicago Experiment” Begins
5 lucky Spring Break attendees will go on different voyages and participate in spectacular contests that require them to get along with complete strangers who they have never met before. All activities take place in the Boystown district. Must be between the ages of 18-23 to participate. Registration takes place March 1 – March 16th at CGY, 1218 W Addison.
Kickoff Party, 8pm, High Risk Gallery, 1113 W Belmont
Spring Break Chicago officially kicks off with the first party of the weekend. Free before 10pm, $5.00 after. For those 23 and under.

Hidden throughout the Belmont/Halsted area, local merchants offer discounts to those who show their Spring Break passes. For a hint as to which stores are participating, pick up a scavenger hunt sheet from CGY office, 1218 W. Addison

Project Vida hosts a social gathering for youth of color. Food, fun, discussion and games. Bus cards provided. For youth 24 and under.
P.R.I.D.E., 1pm – 5pm, Chicago Gay Youth Center, 1218 W. Addison
CGY’s hip, new youth drop-in! See our dance teams perform, participate in 16 different clubs/events, and dance to the sounds of today’s hottest music. Win spectacular Spring Break prizes. Meet other youth like you from other cities. For youth 23 and under. Lunch served to all who attend. Official youth Spring Break headquarters.
Party: Synergy, University Center, 525 S. State Street, 8:00pm-11:30pm
We recommend you attend this drug and drama free party for LGBTQ youth. Synergy is a major part of life for youth in Chicago and is run by the fine staff of Howard Brown Health Center. Contact Joe at (773)388-1600 x3367. $5.00 donation to support Synergy! Ages 24 and under.
Spring Break Lock-in, 12m – 7am, CGY, 1218 W. Addison
Bring your sleeping bag and your new pajama’s. The Chicago Gay Youth center hosts and all night party and sleep over. Participate in games and contests, meet other youth, and camp out at CGY. For youth 23 and under. Youth 17 and under must have parental release form which is available at CGY starting Feb. 23. Funded by the Chicago Department of Public Health.

The Spring Break Film Festival kicks off with the showing of “Circuit” at Gerber/Hart Library. 1127 W. Granville. $1.00. For all ages.
Party: Project Vida Latino Night, 8pm, DeJaVu, Western and Fullerton
Project Vida hosts a night of MTV style contests and games including a sexy limbo contest, hot body contest, banana eating contest and more. $5.00 for youth 23 and under.

Project Vida host a luncheon, Latin style, with foods from the Latin American culture. After you enjoy the cuisine, stay for the Latin music! Open to all (not just Latino’s!). $5.00 for 2 people (bring a friend!).

Watch entertaining comedians from Chicago put on “Second City” style comedy. Watch as youth are asked to participate in hilarious skits right from the audience!

The last Saturday of Spring Break, this night is loaded with events and activities. We’re looking for athletes and frat boys to come out in there best blue party gear! The 21+ Spring Break Show also heats up the stage with live dancers and performances all night long!

The last day of spring break is dedicated to all those who made the first event possible. Sponsors, media personnel and the LGBT community are invited to CGY for this closing dinner. $15.00. CGY’s dance team, DeJaVu performs.
