"Black Magic" the Theme of This Year's North Halsted Halloween Parade

Chicago, IL - North Halsted, one of Chicago's most eclectic streets, will hold its 8th annual Halloween Parade on Sunday evening, October 31. The parade, in the Lake View neighborhood and presented by Triangle Neighbors, is one of the city's most outrageous Halloween celebrations. Organizers have designated Black Magic as this year's overall theme.

The parade steps off from Belmont and Halsted at 7:00 p.m.. Registration for a costume contest begins at 5:30 p.m. at the same location.

Thousands of people are expected to either participate in or view the parade which has quickly grown to become one of the Chicago area's must-attend Halloween events. The parade draws a broad mix of area residents including children and families.

Following the parade, costume contest winners will be announced at the intersection of Roscoe and Halsted for children, pets and adults who registered in advance of the parade. There will be $2,500 in contest cash and prizes, including airline tickets. In addition, there will be post-parade musical entertainment.
