Pie Hole Pizza gives back to the community this holiday season

Chicago, IL - In the spirit of the holiday season of giving, Pie Hole Pizza Joint, 3477 N. Broadway, has announced plans to collect non-perishable food items to benefit the Lakeview Food Pantry.

"The twist," said owner Doug Brandt, "is that we're going to pay you for them and come and get them."

For every canned good or pantry item a customer wishes to donate, Pie Hole will apply one dollar in credit to the pizza order, up to five dollars. Customers can either bring items to Pie Hole when picking up an order, or Pie Hole can collect the items upon delivering a pizza order.

"It's a little unique," explained Brandt, "but we wanted to come up with a way that would make sure people would have no excuse not to donate."

There is a $5 maximum credit per order, but Brandt says don't let that stop the giving because Pie Hole will collect as many items as anyone wishes to donate during a pizza delivery.

Pie Hole will also defer the credit amount for any items collected to the Lakeview Pantry instead.

"We are part of the community, and we want to help out," said Brandt. "This is an interesting way of doing it, we thought. Why wouldn't someone donate some goods, have someone come pick them up and get a few dollars off your pizza?"

To have Pie Hole collect your donations, order a pizza between 5pm and midnight by calling (773) 525-8888.
