Hollywood - Leonardo DiCaprio and Clint Eastwood are the latest Hollywood stars to come out in support of marriage equality.

In an interview with GQ Magazine to promote their upcoming movie, "J. Edgar," the two icons expressed frustration over the fight against gay marriage and called the controversy surrounding the issue pointless.

"That's the most infuriating thing --watching people focus on these things. Meanwhile, there's an onset of global warming and these incredibly scary and menacing things with the future of our economy and our relationship to the rest of the world. And we're focusing on this," questioned DiCaprio.

DiCaprio's comments were not surprising; however, Eastwood, one of a few Republicans in Hollywood, agreed that the debate is overblown.

"These people who are making a big deal about gay marriage? I don't give a f**k about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not!? We're making a big deal out of things we shouldn't be making a big deal about of," said Eastwood, a registered Republican. "Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want."

The Oscar-winning director and actor has described himself as libertarian, fiscally conservative yet socially liberal.

DiCaprio will appear on the cover of the October issue of GQ, which hits newsstands Sept. 20. "J. Edgar," Eastwood's biopic of FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, opens Nov. 9.
