Man wounded during overnight stabbing in Lakeview

Chicago, IL - Chicago Police are investigating a stabbing that happened early Saturday morning in the Lakeview neighborhood.

A 24-year-old man was stabbed in the 900 block of West Belmont Ave. around 3:10 a.m., according to police. He was reportedly walking on the street when two people approached him from behind and began to fight with him.

The victim suffered a stab wound to the back and was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, 836 W. Wellington Ave., in good condition.

ChicagoNewsReport.com reports the suspect was described as a thin, black male.

Area detectives are investigating, but no arrests have been made.

The Lakeview stabbing was one of several violent incidents overnight in Chicago that also left one man dead in a drive-by shooting in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.
