Chicago, IL - Producers from Logo's A-List, and The Real World, were in Chicago over the weekend looking for "big personalities" during an open casting call at Scarlet, 3320 N. Halsted.

They were casting for a new reality series about Boystown from executive producer Dave Schlessinger, a Chicago native who has produced numerous high profile concert events through his company ChiTown Entertainment.

The Boystown neighborhood was turned upside down with a pre-party on Friday and all-day scouting on Saturday. Scarlet owner Paul Cannella explained that producers invited potential candidates into the bar's VIP Table One for an initial interview on Friday with call-backs on Saturday.

Schlessinger tells ChicagoPride.com that the working title of the reality show is ‘Boystown.'

"Our goal is to highlight the beauty, cultural, and artistic qualities of Boystown along with some of the fun, crazy, and wild people that live and play in it," said Schlessinger.

Chicago's Boystown, located in the East Lakeview neighborhood on the north side, is the first officially recognized gay village in the United States. The area includes a large entertainment strip along Halsted St. that features an eclectic mix of gay bars and a colorful nightlife.

The casting producers, who are now on the way back to LA to continue the project, found a lot of "great prospects" from the hundreds of 20-somethings who auditioned.

Stay tuned for more details on ‘Boystown.'
