Chicago, IL - Chicago-based Zoom Vacations beat out the world's largest gay cruise companies to win "Best LGBT Tour Operator" in the annual TripOut Gay Travel Awards, honoring the top destinations and travel services for the gay and lesbian market.

The winners were announced this past week by LOGO, a unit of Viacom's MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B).

"We are so thrilled and honored to win this award at this point in our company's history," Zoom Vacations co-founder, Joel Cabrera said, "In addition to our traditionally popular trips to Rio de Janeiro, South Africa, and Peru, Zoom Vacations has recently brought our special brand of service to destinations as diverse as China and Egypt."

Zoom Vacations co-founder, Bryan Herb added, "The best part about winning this award has been telling our Zoom Vacations travelers. Everyone is so excited for us, which means more than anything. People who have been on our trips know that we work really hard to make meaningful, experiential vacations. It means so much to us to be recognized by TripOut Gay Travel as well."

David Getson, a Washington DC realtor and frequent Zoom Vacations traveler remarked, "The thoughtfulness that Zoom Vacations puts into the planning surpasses even what I would do for myself. I never feel like a number, and all of their staff takes the time to get to know me, and makes the trip even more personal."

In 2011, Zoom will host personalized travel adventures to Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, and more, and introduces a new Baltic yacht voyage that includes St. Petersburg and Stockholm.

Zoom Vacations has won numerous accolades in the LGBT travel industry which include the Out Traveler Reader's Choice Award, PlanetOut Award for best small tour operator and the IGLTA Award for travel excellence.
