Matthew Harvat brings dance parties to Miami, Dallas, Mexico City and of course Chicago in 2024

After its milestone 25th anniversary celebration in 2023, Circuit MOM Productions is keeping the party rocking in 2024, dancing nonstop, including some long-awaited returns and new stops on the never-ending circuit party.

CircuitMOM Productions, run by Chicago-based Matthew Harvat, made its return to Miami’s famed “Winter Party” this past March after a 14-year break and “it was glorious,” Harvat said. “(There was) so much fun energy at every event with people attending from around the world, and the weather was beyond perfect.”

CircuitMOM partnered with event organizers on the Saturday Tea Dance, featuring one of our favorite Miami DJs, and production partners in other cities, DJ Jace M along with Chicago’s legendary DJ Derrick Carter. It was a spectacular daytime event filled with house music, which was a little departure for the Winter Party programming norm.”

Harvat, the real-life CircuitMOM, hit the stage with four gorgeous dancers to do a performance. “Winter Party set the bar very high for us, (for) our own events here in Chicago and for all of our out-of-town events.”

CircuitMOM is ready to blast the beats.

Including a return to Dallas for Purple Party at the beginning of May – for the first time in over 20 years.

CircuitMOM will be producing dance parties for IML, held in Chicago the last weekend of May, for the 24th year. The must-attend IML weekend schedule includes:

- CircuitMOM Takeover on Thursday, May 24, at Charlie’s in Lakeview. “It is a great feeling to be included in the Boystown energy,” Harvat said.

- After a couple year break, CircuitMOM is bringing back the Saturday night dance party at the Congress Hotel with some funky house grooves from two of Chicago’s favorites, Ryan Willing and Janky. It will be fun to go right from our CircuitMOM booth at the leather market straight into the party.”

- CircuitMOM moved the Sunday “Victory Party” to Concord Music Hall for a fresh take on this iconic event, highlighted by DJs Brady Prince and Dani Toro.

- ChopShop in Wicker Park will be the place to party on Memorial Day Monday for the legendary Black & Blue Ball.

CircuitMOM is kicking off Pride Month in Philadelphia, with a party planned for, oh, 3,500 people.

Chicago Pride Fest – the two-day street festival on June 22-23, the weekend before the Chicago Pride Parade (June 30) – will feature a splash of CircuitMOM sass.

“It has been a minute since we have been involved with Chicago Pride Fest,” Harvat said. “The last time was when Lady Bunny, RuPaul (before “Drag Race”) and I shared the stage in front of North End 17 or 18 years ago. I was the closing DJ/performer that night, so I guess you could say these icons opened for me?!

“After many years away, we are coming back and bringing the “CircuitMOM Experience” on Saturday night June 22 to Pride Fest, complete with go-go dancers, performances and sexy beats from Miami-based DJ Alex Lo. When the Fest closes, we will roll right in to Charlie’s to keep the party going until 5 a.m. with more bonus beats from Alex Lo.”

The 23rd annual Chicago Pride Fest is a celebration of everything LGBTQ+ held in the city’s legendary LGBTQ+ Northalsted neighborhood. Pride Fest features live music on three stages, a Youth Pride Space for teens, drag performance, the Proud Pet Parade, dance exhibitions, Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus, guest speakers and more than 150 food and merchandise vendors.

CircuitMOM is taking a year off from the festivities around the Chicago Pride Parade weekend and, instead, heading to Mexico City for Latin America Pride, June 27-30 for the first time. CircuitMOM is producing “Abyss,” a deep ocean spectacle like no other, Harvat said. “This (is) a lifelong dream realized – to finally visit Mexico City, and to bring our brand to their audience during Pride. It is humbling and exciting all at once.”

CircuitMOM, of course, is planning a wild party, er, parties for Northalsted Market Days weekend, held in August.

“The beast that is Market Days takes us about 15-18 months to plan our parties for will,” Harvat said. “The Aragon Ballroom told us that we broke our own record (and the venue record set by us in 2022) for the most production, lights, sound, technology in the space for an event in its 98-year history. So, we know expectations are extremely high and we are up for the challenge. With our “Matador” and “Dream” themes this year, people should be prepared for two distinctly different parties each night that will offer something for everyone’s tastes. We cannot wait for everyone to see what we have planned.”
