'I want every single person that walks through the Effervescence door to feel like they have found a space where they belong,' says Devera
Effervescence, a new artist-focused party in Lakeview, returns on Friday, April 14 with its next installment, titled Gleam, at Barrel Cheese & Wine.
“I created this party to ultimately build a community of people who appreciate House music, that love to create art and collaborate with other artists,” founder Saint Devera told GoPride.com.
Debuted on February 17th of this year, Effervescence Productions features the best up-and-coming local talent side by side with legendary House DJs from Chicago.
The name Effervescence was inspired by Devera’s love of champagne/prosecco and vivacious, vibrant energy.
“I want every single person that walks through the Effervescence door to feel like they have found a space where they belong - because they have” explained Devera. “They have found a community of people who want to see them shine, because they themselves shine bright and they know shining together means shining brighter.”
Devera said Gleam will feature curated DJs and performances, a lively atmosphere and vibrant dance floor, craft cocktails, photo opportunities, and a VIP lounge with a pool table.
The April 14 lineup will be made up of DJs Saint Devera, DJ wOLFY and IAmBrandon along with live performances by Giselle GQ and Angelica Grace.
A staple of Chicago’s LGBTQ nightlife scene, Devera, 25, is a resident DJ at Hydrate Nightclub.
His style features a baseline inspired by Chicago house music. “The deep (and) soulful, those amazing vocals that move us,” Devera told GoPride.com in March. “It wasn’t until the past few months I really started to work with more tech and tribal types of sound. I love bringing a provocative aspect, a feeling that entices you on the dance floor.
“The constant music discovery mode inspires me every day.”
