7th annual event benefits EdgeAlliance and AIDSCare

The interesting and innovative 7th Annual Bar AIDS, one of the signature fundraising events of the summer, takes place throughout Boystown and Chicago tonight, Aug. 26.
Started here in Chicago in 2004 and modeled after the very successful Dining Out for Life program, Bar AIDS is a fun and festive philanthropic evening wherein participating bars will donate a portion of the night's proceeds to EdgeAlliance and AIDSCare Progressive Services, an 18-year-old Chicago non-profit organization.
Billed as "an intoxicating mix of one part night-on-the-town, two parts fundraiser, and a dash of HIV/AIDS awareness," this year's Bar AIDS has over 30 participating venues from all over the city, from the South Loop to Uptown, from Wicker Park to Andersonville, and from River North to Lakeview.
This year, organizers have announced a new citywide Bar Crawl with each participating bar featuring themed parties, drink specials, and fun prizes at each stop. By purchasing the new Bar AIDS Flex-Pass for $40, you get free entry into any five participating bars of your choosing and a free signature drink at each.
Each Flex-Pass comes with a ticket for our grand raffle, giving you the chance to win anything from a spa package, to a skydiving jump, to free roundtrip tickets from Orbitz to anywhere in Mexico, Canada, or the Continental US.
Organizers have also established a Text-To-Give Program where you can give a $10.00 donation by texting EDGE to 85944 then reply Yes to confirm your donation. All Text-To-Give donations are entered into the Bar AIDS Raffle.
