Los Angeles - This weekend at Christopher Street West (Los Angeles' Pride Fest), some gay Republicans are going to be throwing tea bags around.

Visitors to the Log Cabin Los Angeles booth will be asked to throw tea bags through a piece of plywood set up to show three open-mouthed politicians: Jerry Brown, Nancy Pelosi and Sarah Palin.

"We figured this year we ought to take it up a notch and do something that is engaging and somewhat amusing and shows that we can even laugh at ourselves," Log Cabin Los Angeles President Scott Schmidt told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Log Cabin Republicans are coming off a successful week in California politics, the Chronicle reports. Two gay Republicans won their party's nomination for state Assembly, and Log Cabin members were elected to the LA Republican Central Committee.

However, the state's Republican nominee for Governor, Meg Whitman, may not be happy to see them. She supported Proposition 8 (which put a screeching halt to gay marriage in California). She does support civil unions.
