The Pinta Pride Project donated numerous bags of non-perishable items to both the Vernon Township Food Pantry and the Wheeling Food Pantry following the BG Pride Drive, held Sunday, June 7 in suburban Buffalo Grove. Plus, The Pinta Pride Project donated $2,000 to the Brave Space Alliance, funds raised at the Pride Drive. The BraveSpace Alliance is the first Black-led, trans-led LGBTQ Center located on the South Side of Chicago.
Molly Pinta, 13, spearheaded the inaugural Buffalo Grove Pride in 2019, and has continued to be a strong activist for the LGBT community, along with her parents, Carolyn and Bob.
The Pinta family will be interviewed this Wednesday, June 17, on Today
(during the 10 a.m. hour) with Hoda and Jenna, marking their second appearance
on the national NBC broadcast.
Indian Hills Public Library will also host the organizers in a live Zoom program on Tuesday, June 16 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Online registration
