Clear way for the catwalk at Sidetrack, as the annual Proud To Runway fundraiser is Saturday, May 18, from 6-9 p.m., which is Proud To Run's biggest fundraising event of the year.
Models will strut their stuff, working athletic and ath-leisurely looks provided by Cram Fashion, Athleta, and Fleet Feet Chicago.
A $20 donation at the door includes a drink ticket and an entry to win prizes.
Proud To Runway is "a fun event to kick of Pride Season and get people ready for Proud to Run (which is held) Pride weekend," said Sidetrack general manager Brad Balof. "I've done Proud To Run many times; it's a great social and athletic organization that does a lot for the community."
The 38th annual Proud To Run Chicago is Saturday, June 29 at Montrose Harbor, featuring a 5K, 10K and half marathon races.
Proud To Runway will feature a silent auction, with items donated by various Chicago-area businesses, including eateries, hotels, boutiques, bars, and more.
Anyone who registers for Proud To Run at Proud To Runway will receive an extra drink ticket and another entry in the prize drawing.
"Sidetrack enjoys celebrating the organizations and social clubs in the community," said Balof, who has participated in Proud To Run about 10 times.
All funds raised at Proud To Runway 2019 will go to four beneficiaries: About Face Theatre, H.O.M.E. (Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for the Elderly), The GenderCool Project, and LGBT Chamber of Commerce of Illinois.
"Sidetrack has been a bar, but also a community center for many of its 37 years," Balof said. "For the LGBTQ community, bars are not just bars; they are the places where people find their tribe, their lovers, their friends and their community."
Proud To Runway is again sponsored by Ketel One.
