Chancelor Bennett, known as Chance the Rapper, has built a legacy of advocating for youth education and supporting Chicagoland's young population. The Grammy Award winner has always given back to his community and he continues that philosophy with SocialWorks.
SocialWorks is a non-profit organization founded in the Windy City in August of 2016 by Chance, Justin Cunningham and Essence Smith to support Chicago Public Schools.
The rap artist competed on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune earlier this month and raised $139,300 for the nonprofit organization.
Teaming up with Raising Restaurants and Cane's Chicken Fingers was a natural fit for everyone involved. The company's generosity has again astounded people with a holiday event held at the restaurant's Riverside location. On December 20, 100 bikes and helmets were donated to worthy recipients outside in the parking lot with a pop-up activation.
A DJ played tunes outside for the crowd and inside, attendees snacked on chicken, while waiting for the rapper's arrival. At 1 p.m., Chance dined with the fans at the hot spot and then spoke briefly at a press conference. “During this time in the world, I believe in helping people out. We hope everyone enjoys these bikes and hopefully, everyone knows how to ride them!” He joked.
More Raising Cane's bicycles are planned to be donated across the county. To learn more about Chance's charity, visit socialworkschi.org, so get involved and make 2025 a positive year of change.
