Pansexual superhero Deadpool returns to the cinema once again and this time his partner is an alcoholic animalistic mutant named Wolverine. This third film from the mercenary Wade Wilson played by Ryan Reynolds is the first of the three to change studios from 20th Century Fox to Disney following an acquisition. The writers are now integrating these characters into Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This project is the first MCU R-rated film and there's a variety of reasons that range from graphic violence to crude sex jokes.

The new storyline continues from Deadpool 2 where Wilson had retired but then is suddenly drawn in to donning the suit once again and jumping back into the action. This leads him to traverse the multiverse and deal with an onslaught of variants.

One of these variations is original actor Hugh Jackman as Wolverine who is crazy like a fox and Deadpool is determined to play with him in every way possible. These two Canadians are similar to the comedy team Laurel and Hardy with Wade's antics that continually test Logan's anger and patience.

The duo team up against a creepy character named Cassandra Nova who is played by nonbinary performer Emma Corrin. They bring just the right amount of unpredictability that made the sister of Charles Xavier so interesting in the comic book series.

The joy of watching this third Deadpool flick comes from recognizing actors from past incarnations. The surprises keep on coming throughout the over two-hour adventure so the less a viewer knows before seeing it the better. Longtime comic fans and viewers who have done their homework will be rewarded with a film full of Easter eggs. There are so many jokes that Deadpool & Wolverine deserve repeat screenings and fanboys are already lining up at the box office for something like this.

Reynolds does the heavy lifting and carries this film on his shoulders. He breaks the fourth wall from the jump and addresses the audience with his usual tongue-in-cheek style. Getting a kick out of the cameos makes this one worth the price of admission.

Stay for additional scenes as the credits roll and buckle up, Bub, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!
