Horror audience's heads are currently spinning for The Exorcist: Believer now playing in theaters. There's a lot of chatter from longtime fans on social media and the problem some people are listening to others instead of viewing it for themselves.

Forming an opinion before watching something or experiencing it in the media is a problem in the world today. Some of this talk originates from those who didn't enjoy director David Gordon Green's previous Halloween franchise.

The original Exorcist film was a phenomenon that shocked audiences back in 1973 and can't be recreated, but Ellen Burstyn returned as Chris MacNeil with Believer 50 years later.

The creative team doubled the first offer's salary and invested in a theater student scholarship program at Pace University.

The story centers around a single dad named Victor Fielding raising his daughter Angela after his wife died in childbirth. Angela disappears with her friend Katherine and the two return for a buy-one-get-one free double possession!

The cast is strong overallĀ and Believer could have been made into a musical with the singing talent involved including Hamilton's Leslie Odom Jr., Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles.

Ann Dowd can do no wrong and having a few characters be unlikable really fleshes things out.

A second and third installment is planned to be streamed on Peacock in the future, but we will see after the lukewarm reception it's currently receiving. Believer is way better than Exorcist II: The Heretic and is a victim of too high expectations.

The Exorcist: Believer might not have ticket holders dressing up like Regan similar to Barbie, but it wouldn't be a bad idea this Halloween season!
