A Nightmare on Clark Street is busting out of the Bamboo Club, 3505 North Clark Street, and ready to treat visitors to a scary good time. Having just opened on September 21, 2023, the early ghoul will get the worm as long lines and extended wait times will increase as this venue heads into the busy season.

This past June, Bamboo replaced Deuces in a space known for spectacular holiday decorations. Nightmare on Clark Street puts its best foot forward to continue that tradition with this blood-curdling adventure.

The team at Bucket Listers has joined forces with the Club for this passion project following other successful pop-ups such as The Malibu Barbie Cafe and The Golden Girls Kitchen.

Much like those endeavors, Nightmare on Clark Street focuses on themed cocktails and cuisine. Try those refreshments first and finish them before entering as libations paired with the haunted house can be problematic.

The downstairs patio is packed with ominous lighting and supernatural decor. Leave the summer behind because this tiki hut is now possessed by the Halloween spirit, Boo!

Speaking of spirits, sip on three different sizes of specialty drinks presented at the bar.

The Monster Mash mixes Malibu Rum, Midori Liqueur, pineapple and Sprite together for a frightfully good concoction or suck on Dracula's Blood containing Grey Goose Vanilla Vodka, Sprite and grenadine, amongst several others on the menu.

This establishment may “rum this city” as far as beverages, but the food is also excellent. The Shrimp Egg Rolls are packed with a punch and the Lava Flow pizza will have cheese oozing out everywhere!

Give that food a little time to settle before taking the escalator up to the second floor to the haunted house space, then prepare for some pop out scares along the path. Head into a dark maze that includes frightening spiders, clowns and various tortured creatures. The outdoor patio gives explorers a brief respite to catch their breath in the open air before its time to return inside. After a brief stop at the secluded bar finish strong with a little more excitement during the last leg of the trip. Don't rush and take your time to enjoy the festivities provided by these creepy curators. This spine-chilling diversion is full of hair-raising photo opportunities and costumed characters that will jump start October's chilling celebrations.

Drunken baseball fans will scream for this Wrigley Field haunt in the area that provides nearby entertainment and unique offerings to all that dare to enter.

General admission starts at $19.95 and VIP starts at $29.95 per person. Very important people earn a choice of Halloween cocktail, jello shot syringe or soda along with an express entry for the right price. Note that anyone under the age of 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult and those under the age of 16 years old are not permitted to enter with all sales being final.

Heed the warnings on the website about strobe lights, loud noises and tight spaces if this presents challenges for you. Emergency exits are offered along the way if the experience grows to be too much, but to most, it will be harmless fun and simply a walk in the dark!

Nightmare on Clark Street closes its inaugural season on October 31, 2023 and hours vary as the month draws to a close. For tickets and more information find a frightening escape at NightmareonClarkSt.com before it's too late!
