The iconic Prime & Provisions at 222 North LaSalle Street provides some palatable selections for guests every day in Chicago.
DineAmic Hospitality's steakhouse is housed in a 12,000-square-foot space with a second-floor area inside a nearly 100-year-old building.
Being a vegetarian is a huge missed steak at Prime & Provisions as they serve a hundred percent all-natural Linz Heritage USDA Prime Black Angus Beef.
Size matters in the 500 square-foot dry-aging rooms for massive steaks like the 36-ounce porterhouse that spend 45 days in that controlled environment before it is cooked. Quality costs and Prime has a 38-ounce tomahawk that costs $210 that is worth every penny.
Look to the luxury bite menu for a set price with offerings such as the grilled king crab or the Waygu beef tartare served with crispy house-cut potato chips.
Try the Kaluga caviar potato skin containing bacon, creme fraiche and aged cheddar cheese or the amazing seared foie gras. There's also a daily selection of oysters to dive into.
The happy hour menu is from Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. with reasonable prices on a multitude of items. Slide up to the bar and down a Prime old fashioned to wet your whistle.
With current liquor laws in Illinois only one drink can be placed in front of a guest at a time, so there is not a buy one get one half off with each order as in traditional happy hours. In this case, there are two hours of discounted prices to entice people to enter and enjoy.
The team behind the successful Siena Tavern brings a high-end steakhouse to the table with a rich history in the culinary world that should be revered.
Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance at PrimeandProvisions.com. Keep the dress code in mind and put on your Sunday's best outfit for Easter brunch this season!
