Bandit will steal your heart and your stomach

DineAmic Hospitality's Bandit will steal your heart this Valentine's Day and possibly year-round. The casual dining and bar hot spot Bandit is located in the West Loop area of Chicago at 841 West Randolph Street. This Nunn had previously visited Bandit for Lollapalooza media events and a birthday celebration in the past, but never for a sit-down meal until this review.

A jukebox machine serves as a host stand to greet guests right at the front. Two floors of fun are contained within plus a dog-friendly patio in the back and several opportunities for sectioned-off party places to accompany the seated dining rooms. This eatery puts its money where its mouth is by donating some proceeds from an exclusive pet menu to PAWS Chicago, bow-wow!

Look for drinks like the bourbon-focused Thunderbird or the Shady Lady with blueberry-infused Gran Centenario Plata Tequila that can be made the size of a pitcher if one falls into a thirst trap! 

Bandit will rob away those hunger pains after eating three hearty shrimp tacos crammed full of goodness and the Disco Waffle Fries will make you feel the love thanks to the bulgogi braid short rib on top.

The southwestern salad is a popular item along with The Diplomat burger meant for sharing.

For dessert the bananas foster sundae was a pleasant surprise with a scoop of vanilla ice cream plopped over a white chocolate blondie cookie. The mulled cider will wash it down while warming you up!

Bandit is very LGBTQ+ friendly and our server who performs separately as a drag queen spilled the tea on how several people currently on the staff are queer and described the collaborative team atmosphere that has been created inside the establishment. 

After working in the hospitality world of Chicago for over 20 years, this was music to a Nunn's ears. Hopefully, the toxic masculinity and abuse found in some restaurants will be eliminated in the future. Bandit can steal clients away from that kind of business any day in my opinion! 

The marketing group at DineAmic Hospitality continues to keep things festive, especially on the holidays. Head to the second floor on Saturday, March 11, 2023, for a St. Patrick's Day party that will make your friends green with envy. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. a separate ticket will include mimosas and well cocktails, Irish passed appetizers and swag in the powerful color of verde. 

Bandit blows away the competition in terms of retro decor chocked full with plenty of items that will stir up one's nostalgia. The restrooms alone are worth the trip to see a pop musician wallpapered throughout the various intimate powder rooms. 

Running late? This joint is open until midnight Sunday through Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays until 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Saturdays! This hardworking staff is here for guests almost around the clock and it's much appreciated by their loyal customers. There's even a brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on select days for the early risers to enjoy.
