Immersive Frida Kahlo brought out the festivities with a preview party on February 23. A mariachi band, an open bar and delicious Mexican food added to the special fiesta for the VIP guests that night.
This exhibition is replacing the very successful Immersive Van Gogh at Lighthouse ArtSpace within Germania Club, 108 W. Germania Place. There were high expectations for the project after selling more than four million tickets during the previous endeavor. Van Gogh still haunts about half the gift shop after Kahlo has moved in with her merchandise for this transition. Visitors don't have to purchase a ticket to shop there and while her merch isn't cheap, it is something to treasure with some real rarities. The bar in the space is also open to the public and memorabilia including a back brace and glass-covered model of her home are on display to see.
