Founders Matt Matros, Arturo Gomez and Chris Dunstatter picked a beautiful spot to open Edie's All Day Cafe & Bar at 675 N. Wells St. The surrounding area in the River North neighborhood of Chicago will create foot traffic from those that work Downtown or live in the nearby buildings on the corner of Huron and Wells. The idea is that no matter what time of day someone is passing by, there is an opportunity to stop and enjoy some fresh and tasty offerings.
Edie's is named after Gomez's daughter and gives the place a family friendly atmosphere during the day that grows into a more adult menu by the end of the night.

The team at Edie's obviously knows what they are doing. As guests walk up, they will not only notice the modern decor, but a clean and friendly environment provided by the staff. The patio was bustling with activity on the day I visited. All the current safety precautions were in place and catching some sun outdoors helped with the overall vibe.
Chef Dunstatter has assembled a menu that has healthy ingredients paired with just the right amount of unforgettable taste.
Start off with a smoothie or choose from the wide variety of coffee choices. Feeling tired? The charcoal latte has that double shot of espresso for you. The cold brew milkshake was quite refreshing and my friend loved the cold pressed juice of the power greens drink that was a mix of cucumber, apple, celery and greens.

Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. Begin with the avocado toast or Edie's Mexi-bowl that has an egg, corn, avocado and black beans as part of its ingredients. At 11 a.m. go for the BLT with seven grain toast, bacon, tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. The Cobb salad was a stand out with delicious greens, grilled chicken and house made balsamic dressing.
For the night time hours that last until 9 p.m., there are specialty cocktails to sip on such as the French Road Trip with Tito's Vodka, cranberry juice and prosecco.

Overall, Edie's All Day Cafe & Bar is a worthy place to spend your time and money. You might not spend all day, but no matter what time you arrive there's something to try out with a concise menu offering a variety of choices.
