Broadway in Chicago finally brought Mean Girls to the Windy City after the musical did extremely well in New York City. The story of Cady Heron attending high school in the Illinois suburbs is perfect to land on tour in this vicinity. The story still holds up well and is updated a bit for a new generation of pink wearing fans.

It's a whole new ballgame with the Janis Ian and Damian Leigh characters as misfits and narrators in this production. Mary Kate Morrissey as Ian outsings the rest of the cast and Eric Huffman as Leigh is more out than ever!

There are sweet moments from Megan Masako Haley as Gretchen Wieners and the lunch tray dance is a not to be missed moment. There's enough drag and dancing to keep the crowds entertained, although the show runs a little long.

The Tina Fey written piece has some political moments that will make liberals chuckle and treating people more kind as a storyline is as important now as ever.

Buy a Burn Book at the merch table inside and wait outside by the stage door to have it autographed by the talented cast. Oh, and don't forget to wear pink if you see it on a Wednesday!

Mean Girls is currently running through Jan. 26 at the James M. Nederlander Theatre on Randolph St. Tickets and showtimes can be found at BroadwayInChicago.com.

Feeling hungry after seeing a long Broadway show? Head to Hoots with a new second location at 4059 W. Diversey Ave. on Diversey, just west of Pulaski. This Hooters spinoff has the same great tasting wings but with a casual feel. There is a counter service or try the self-checkout kiosk right at the front entrance for convenience.

The jumbo chicken tenders are a must try item with dipping sauces such as the hootsradish to add to the flavor. They are served with waffle fries that work better than the traditional curly fries in terms of staying fresh and hot.

There are many options for wings such as adding parmesan and degrees of spiciness, so take your time and explore the menu.

Hungry at home? Try the delivery service. The 2201-D S. Cicero location that opened in 2017 is also an option. Check out more information at EatHoots.com today.
