The LuxeHome CHILL, an international wine and culinary event, turned 13 this year at theMart with 30 new restaurants. There were more than 60 restaurants in total that night working with Wine Spectator Magazine.
The organization has found the perfect home at 222 W. Merchandise Mart Plaza with more than 45 showrooms that all had each one restaurant and wine represented.
The attendance continues to grow, so early arrival is always recommended. Coat check and lines for samples were a lesson in patience, but all moved fairly quickly on Nov. 14.
Proceeds from the fundraiser benefitted The Lynn Sage Foundation, Respiratory Health Association and Saturday Place.
Some standouts at LuxeHome this year were Bistronomics's soup and Ocean Prime Chicago's seafood sample.
ETA Restaurant + Bar from the Loews Chicago Hotel group should have won best display next to their samples.
With so many bites to eat and wines to sip, this event really needs an early media hour so we can try everything offered. It's always a work out to even get through half of the showrooms!
Hubbard Inn not only had a presence at theMart for LuxeHome, but also a massive party at the location of 110 W. Hubbard St. later the same night. After being closed for rennovations, the three story River North hotspot came back better than ever.
From a jazz floor referred to as Blue Violet to various step and repeat spots throughout the venue for photographs, Hubbard Inn River North has plenty for the young crowd that's expected.
