Opening last summer, The Lunchroom at Space 519, 200 East Chestnut, really takes the cake. Gay owners Lance Lawson and Jim Wetzel bring a lot to the table in the Gold Coast neighborhood.
The 40 seat restaurant is mixed in with a concept store full of a variety of items ranging from books to unique gifts. When the weather warms up a 24 seat sidewalk cafe will also be offered for guests. Two farm tables take up some of the limited space at Space 519. For those that like cozy seating this is place to be.
The menu overall is refreshing with many healthy options for diners. The avocado toast club was simply delicious made up of pulled free range chicken breast, tomato, bacon, avocado, mayo and country bread. The grapefruit and feta salad made a nice addition to the sandwich.
Another dish with the same chicken breast was the monterey mac and cheese that mixed in pasta and several cheeses.
