The Chicago Field Museum of Natural History is one of the larget museums in the world. It houses both seasonal and permanent exhibitions each year with plenty to explore.

Some may not realize that as an event space the museum has a lot to offer. In the summer, the grounds are open to outdoor tents right on the lawn in front. In the winter, a long covered entrance snakes its way to the front door with valet offered for guests in the evening.

To kick off Chicago Restaurant Week the 12th annual event was hosted at the museum for a First Bites Bash that was packed with hungry attendees. Joe Flamm from Spiaggia and winner of Top Chef season 15 was the host chef for the experience. He was interviewed for ChicagoPride before he landed his big win on the popular Bravo competition show.

The night benefitted Pilot Light which is a local non-profit that helps kids through food education.

On Feb. 1, the Grand Chefs Experience took over the space once again in 2019 to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The current Bachelor on ABC, Colton Underwood, stopped to talk that night right before his appearance. The charming Washington, Illinois native stated that he started the Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation because his cousin Harper was born with Cystic Fibrosis at birth. "It was at the time I was trying to make it in the NFL so I wanted to use my platform for a good cause. Since then, we have made some great strides in really impacting families that are affected by it. We want them to get the most out of life and live it to the fullest."

His website ColtonsLegacy.org has ways to become involved and donate. He described himself as a foodie and had plenty of samples to try upstairs before the special Chef Tableside Service was presented in the downstairs area under Maximo the world's largest dinosaur.

The night ended with a special Nightcap section where ticket holders enjoyed custom cocktails and desserts until midnight.
