Two new Stefani spots are red hot in 2017

Phil Stefani Signature Restaurants have a rich history in the Chicago area thanks to a family that shows hard work and dedication will always pay off. Starting off with Italian cuisine in Tuscany then venturing into other endeavors, such as taco joint Broken English, has really expanded an empire that should explored with your stomach.

Located next door to another Stefani experience called The Flamingo Club is Bar Cargo at 605 N. Wells St. Having opened just last month, this hip hang out has the atmosphere and delicious food to reel in the casual crowd.

Stefani's son Anthony has brought in a world champion pizza chef named Mossimo "Max" Moresi to supply some of the best pizza in town. Thanks to fresh ingredients and an original take on a pizza pie this is simply something that must be devoured to believe. The pepperoni was spicy hitting the target with a light crust.

Begin with the suppli, a scrumptous ball of mushroom, rice, and saffron aioli then move on to a chopped salad with iceberg lettuce and salami. Definitely try the Roman style pizza for the main course although there are a variety of offerings such as pasta and sandwiches to be had.

This same year Anthony's sister Gina took the plunge to open Mad Social in the West Loop at 1140 W. Madison St. With original timber ceilings and multiple mirrors adorning the walls, designer Adolfo Garcia really knows how to make a place cozy and feel like home.

Sip on drinks like the Rosemary's Baby with Ketel One and ginger beer, basically a Moscow Mule or El Guapo made with Milagro tequila and spiced syrup.

The chicken & waffles are a must try item. Topped with pork belly, over chicken breast milanese and sugary churro waffles, this is heaven on a plate.

The Mad burger also must not be skipped. Combining waygu beef, chihuahua cheese and pork belly to form a massive tower of deliciousness. The housemade fries were addicting and I had to force myself to stop before exploding.

Phil Stefani continues to expand with these latest family projects in neighborhoods all over Chicago. Let's hope he sets his sights on Andersonville one day where I can walk out my door to more fine food. Visit stefanirestaurants.com for details on other establishments.
