Fade & Feather

The new show at the Victory Garden Theater called Fade is presented by Teatro Vista in association with CLATA. It stars Eddie Martinez as Abel and Sari Sanchez as Lucia. It tells the story of an office worker's relationship with a custodian.

The set and staging are well done, but as I watched I wondered why is Abel so likeable and Lucia is plainly not. By the end you realize it was meant to add to the story of someone using the other for personal gain.

Playwright Tanya Saracho I interviewed in the past and is very talented in conveying messages in theater and the small screen. While this endeavor is a little manipulative it is still worth checking out.

Fade fades away after Dec. 23 at 2433 N. Lincon Avenue.

A restaurant that is also worth dropping into is Point & Feather at 113 W. Hubbard St. From the beautiful art on the walls to the masculine setting, this is more than just a mere place to play darts.

Although the books have ripped off covers in the bookcases for no apparent reason, overall this is a cozy place to relax after a hard days work.

The crab corn dogs and BBQ meatballs are hearty things to try. Wash things down with a gin centered drink menu including the Queen of Thorns with Beefeater gin, pineapple, lemon, and rose.
