Jake Melnick's Corner Tap at 41 E. Superior St. was definitely a treat the other night. We started off with Not Your Momma's Sangria, well my southern momma doesn't make sangria but this was really good anyways. The orchard peach liqueur gave it something different.

The Porch Swing was made with Town Branch Bourbon and really hit the spot. Shut the door with this lemonade and ice tea mixed drink. May Arnold Palmer rest in peace...

Known for having some of the best wings in Chicago, a mix of flavors is the best way to go. There is a XXX if you are truly daring but the firecracker wings were delicious on their own. For something a bit different a dish was named after a past employee, Poncho. His grilled wing combined with garlic and cayenne was very unique.

Stop in for the wing of the month to try something new. There is also a burger of the month with the same concept.

The BBQ is something not to be missed with its dark and rich taste. Gorge on the combo with beef brisket and smoked chicken. The jumbo hot links hit the spot. The sides of skillet corn bread and the mac n' cheese went well with the platters but the shear amount of food became overwhelming.

Good luck finishing the chocolate chip cookie sundae after that feast!

If you are a brunch fan, it is offered every day all day so snack on some chicken & waffle wings while watching a big game.

I threw my company holiday party from the Tribune and it really went well this past December. We were looking for something fun and casual. In one section of the bar the staff put up a privacy screen then focused on making us feel right at home. The drink package and food was more than we could consume.
