No need to swim far from my workplace at the Tribune on 21 East Hubbard Street is Shaw's Crab House, a place that has become legendary for seafood for many years.

My server named Anthony was friendly but not intrusive and had a vast knowledge of the menu. He was even multitasking and training someone without becoming distracted.

Lunch is the place to start at this restaurant with the delicious clam chowder. Lobster bisque is also offered and quite popular from what I hear.

Fresh fish is shipped in daily and the sushi bar carves it up to order. Try the yellowfin tuna tacos or the signature seafood salad with a little bit of everything including snow crab, and shrimp.

A must try is the New England lobster roll. Although not a sushi roll, the brioche bread is filled with Maine lobster mixed with mayonnaise and celery. This dish is a longtime favorite with Chicagoans.

For dessert the key lime pie with almond and graham cracker crust is simply devine. I just couldn't get enough of it.

I'm a chocolate freak and their layered cake was rich but good. The homemade whipped cream didn't hurt things either.

There is also peach and blueberry cobbler for those southern tourists to try.

Sunday brunch from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm serves lobster mac and cheese along with crab legs and a meat carving station.

A yearly special event includes the induction of people who have made an impact on the oyster world and Oyster Fest starts on September 11 with 1/2 price oysters all day. Get ready to shuck your hearts out!

Recent Pride Fest performers St. Lucia will be in the house to celebrate Oyster Fest turning 27 this year. Tickets are located at www.oysterfestchicago.com. The event takes place at Hubbard and Rush.

There various sized private rooms to accommodate parties especially for groups during the upcoming holiday season. Make a dining reservation today at 312-527-2722 and check out the website at www.shawscrabhouse.com. There's another location in Schaumburg to try located at 1900 E. Higgins Road. Tell them a Nunn gave Shaw's a blessing!
